Vicky’s Story

Vicky is back home!

Last week, I took a rare overnight trip to Tennessee with a friend who owns a Cessna. On the way back, while catching bits of cell signal, I saw an email from the Humane Society of Hamilton County with several key staff copied in. They had a unique situation and asked if I could help. Since HSHC does so much for cats—and has supported me—I didn’t hesitate to say yes.

After landing, I went straight home, picked up my trap from Brim’s owners (along with their generous donation of a new Edge Pro 2 camera), and headed out to meet the family in need. I walked them through how to use the trap properly, stayed until they were 100% confident, and left another camera on-site to monitor the area.

When asked how long it might take, I explained it could be a night, a month, or sometimes never.

But this time, the cat gods smiled on us—Vicky was safely trapped within just 6 hours. 🙌

✨ The lesson here: always be prepared for when your cat returns. Whether it’s with a trap, a camera, or simply waiting, readiness can make all the difference in bringing them home.
