Crazy cat people

I’d like to lead off by saying the purpose of the picture below was for us to look like crazy cat people. I think we did a pretty good job while our cats were less amused. Moses (orange/white) is still with us while Whitey has passed.

Hi, I’m Brad—and this is my wife, Lauren. We met in late 2013 on Twitter, back when she was living in Milwaukee and I was in Cincinnati. Within a year, we were married, and I’ve been grateful for her ever since.

Over the years, we’ve shared our lives with seven amazing cats—currently, we have five (with a future cap of three... hopefully). Two of them—Whitey and Moses—were with me from a previous marriage, and from the start, I made it clear they were non-negotiable. Thankfully, Lauren didn’t just accept them—she fell in love with them instantly.

Whitey was wonderful, but Moses is my soul pet. He’s been my emotional anchor and the driving force behind everything I’ve done to help cats. I truly don’t know where I’d be without him—and I’m so lucky he’s still with me.

Even though I’ve never personally lost a cat, I’ve always been drawn to helping people recover theirs. Through my earlier work with a community cat organization, I gained experience working with outdoor cats and learning how to safely trap them. One day, I saw a post offering a $500 reward for a missing cat. I thought it might be a way to raise money for the organization—so I gave it a shot. It took three weeks, but we finally spotted the cat on a camera the owners had set up and were able to bring her home.

That experience opened my eyes. I realized just how little support exists for people searching for lost cats—both locally and around the world. I was inspired by a friend who dedicates her time to finding lost dogs, and I wanted to create something similar for cats.

This website is my attempt to fill that gap—a trusted, entirely free resource to help people bring their missing cats home. My hope is that it will make a difference not just in my community, but around the world.
