Little Youz is back after 6 days!

Little Youz enjoyed spending time outside and usually stayed near home. That changed when his elderly neighbor moved into assisted living, leaving several cats behind. Carmel CSOs were called to help and brought all the cats to the Humane Society for Hamilton County.

Unfortunately, Little Youz was among them—and his owner was heartbroken. She’d been to the shelter but didn’t recognize him there, and something wasn’t adding up.

I reached out to Carmel CSO Brittney Sanford, who was present when the cats were picked up. She kindly shared two photos, and one stood out immediately. After checking HSHC’s website, I found a cat listed from the right date and location that matched the photo.

I sent it to Little Youz’s owner and encouraged her to return to the shelter specifically to see this cat in person. And guess what? It was him! 🐾

He was only days away from being placed on the adoption floor—but thanks to teamwork, persistence, and a second look, he’s back home where he belongs. 💛
