Brim’s Story
Brim was found after 3 days!
Brim’s first harness walk didn’t go as planned. He was happily rolling around on the concrete when his paw got caught in the harness. In the chaos of trying to free him, he backed out of it and bolted into the woods.
His owners did the right things right away and connected with me through my onboarding form. Given Brim’s skittish personality, I knew recovery would likely require a humane trap.
After reviewing their case and knowing they had a sighting outside their home, I brought over one of my top-of-the-line traps and gave them a full lesson on how to use it safely—because done wrong, trapping can put a cat at risk or make them avoid traps in the future.
They searched diligently:
Monday: no luck
Tuesday: no luck
Last night: success!
Using fish oil, favorite food, and even the owner’s socks as scent, Brim was lured into the trap and safely brought inside. Like most lost cats, the first thing he wanted was food and rest after his ordeal.
Takeaway: Acting quickly, having the right guidance, and using the right equipment dramatically improves the chances of getting your cat back home.
Welcome back, Brim!
