Phantom

Phantom earned his name because he only appeared at our colony from time to time, almost like a ghost. We suspected he might belong to someone in the Riverwood neighborhood, so we placed a paper collar on him in hopes of hearing from an owner. No one ever reached out, and Phantom has been a beloved permanent resident ever since.

Today, he’s the friendliest cat in the colony—always ready for pets and affection. If you happen to have a Churu treat, Phantom will happily become your lifelong friend.

People often ask why we don’t place him up for adoption. The truth is that shelters and rescues are already overwhelmed, with over a million adoptable cats euthanized every year. By adopting Phantom out, we would be taking the space of another cat in need. He’s also deeply bonded with TK, and separating them would cause unnecessary stress.

Phantom is safe, cared for, and thriving right where he is. He’s living his best life with his colony family.

Interaction – 🟢

Phantom loves being petted and may even allow his caretakers to pick him up briefly. For safety, it’s best that only caretakers attempt to lift him—but anyone is welcome to give him gentle pets. From time to time, he might playfully grab at your hand with his claws.

TK

For months, TK was only a voice in the distance. We weren’t sure if it was a cat in heat or some other animal, but the loud cries continued with no sight of the source. Eventually, he revealed himself—spotted behind a fence some distance away. At that point, we nicknamed him Target Cat because trapping and neutering him became a priority. When it came time for his clinic visit, he needed an official name, so he became TK—short for Target Kitty. Today, TK is known as Teter’s Kitty, a tribute to his permanent home in our colony.

If there’s a scuffle in the colony, chances are TK is the one behind it. He’s our mischievous troublemaker, but despite his antics, he’s still very much loved.

Interaction – 🟡
TK is best suited for experienced cat handlers. He enjoys pets but doesn’t always know how to express it appropriately, and he’s quick to swipe or give a warning nip. If you interact with him, we recommend wearing gloves or having experience managing cats with this type of behavior.
